Belmont Lane
The base of our operations is the Coach Houses at 84 Belmont Lane and various gap sites and previously neglected ground in its vicinity which we have landscaped and incorporated as locations for the activities of our service users. These are people from disadvantaged backgrounds with a variety of disabilities including mental health problems, learning disabilities, alcohol and drug rehabilitation and chaotic lifestyles. We provide occupational, educational and employment opportunities and seek to help the individual discover their talents through offering a wide range of workshops and activities. The ultimate aim where possible is to get people into a job that suits their capabilities and temperament, and we have discovered that the creation of social firms/enterprise around the positive skills of our service users is a more realistic route than job seeking on the open labour market. Belmont Lane is the starting point for people who come to us or are referred to us and once they have achieved confidence, stability and a sense of direction they then go on to satellite projects around the city.
