Buchley Eco Centre
CHT Sustainable Futures Ltd (the trading arm of the Coach House Trust) has secured a twenty year lease on the site at Buchley Farm, East Dumbartonshire and has planning permission and a SEPA license for composting and related recycling operations. The company will trade commercially and also aims to deliver employment and volunteering opportunities for the most disadvantaged members of society – principally those recovering from mental illness, addictions and disabilities or from backgrounds of multiple deprivation. The successful delivery of this proposed venture will, by enhancing sustainability, secure the CHT’s independent income by covenanting back profit to the charity. As such it represents the CHT’s exit strategy from dependence on grant funding.
